Now is the perfect time to update your denim collection! After all, we tend to live in jeans all year long, so it only makes sense to have a few pairs that make you look and feel amazing!
1 // SHAKE UP YOUR SILHOUETTE
We all love a good pair of skinnies, but every now and then you may want to add some drama to your look in the form of a classic wide leg jean. The advantage here: Wide leg jeans can camouflage areas you want to hide and highlight your most flattering areas. I love this silhouette, the wide leg hem keeps these jeans looking fresh and modern.
A paper-bag pant is extremely flattering on every body shape! For shorter women like myself, I’ve noticed that this style of pant makes it appear as though your legs go on forever. My favorite thing about the paper-bag pant is that they are usually a little baggy, making them incredibly comfortable to wear.
2 // PAIR DENIM TOGETHER
It’s tried and true, and tried again: denim on denim. This classic duo extends into summer with jean shorts and a lightweight chambray button-up. The key to styling a monochromatic denim on denim outfit is to make sure you have a neutral piece to break it up. I also think a blue chambray top looks so chic with a pair of white jeans. You can wear it as is or roll up the sleeves and leave it open, exposing your favorite tee, for a ‘90s-inspired look. It’s back in, trust me!
3 // PLAY WITH COLOR
Dark skinny jeans have held a spell over us for years, but its 2019 and we need to release ourselves of old style habits. This spring’s denim is fun, fresh and new. Try out a pair in a trending Pantone color, like this, or add a little feminine edge with a pretty pastel pair. Whether you are simply adding a subtle hint of color or mixing and matching different shades of denim, it’s a great time to ditch those tried and true blues for a walk on the wild side (of jeans).
